A very welcome statement from The Woodcraft Folk on inclusion in their organisation

They currently have a match-funded appeal to raise ยฃ20k, why not chip them some quids as well?

Woodcraft Folk statement on the exclusion of trans children from Girlguiding - Woodcraft Folk

Woodcraft Folk stands in solidarity with every trans child, young person and volunteer who faces exclusion from Girlguiding UK following the announcement on Trans inclusion.  We recognise that Girlguiding UK have taken this decision in the context of intense political pressure and legal uncertainty. However, this does not make the outcome acceptable. Young people should [โ€ฆ]

Trans men can now join the womens institute. I suggest they do so, especially if they have beards or are balding. Show what a sham it is.

Another updateโ€ฆ

Of course, Google Workspace will keep taking money from me until April ๐Ÿ™„ but my professional emails are no longer hosted there, so middle finger to Google.

Getting rid of gmail is going to take longer.
Iโ€™m AMAZED at how many places make it so difficult to change emails.

In the UK, good luck if you want to change emails at Argos.

UPDATE! I managed to migrate my email host from Google Workspace to Proton for my professional email. Once I'm sure that it's all working (I've already sent and received professional emails), I can then cancel my Google subscription and delete it! So of course now, I'm working at the Proton folders to make for a good workflow. And then the saga continues with my personal gmail address. #ProtonMail #Proton #DeGoogle #Gmail https://lgbtqia.space/@saxifraga/115615782812627027

But, of course, trans women and girls are the problem ... ๐Ÿซ

... so exclude them from the Girl Guides and Women's Institute just in case a TERF has to breathe the same air!?!

Fucking country.

Question for #tech. Has anyone migrated a domain email address from #GoogleWorkspace to #ProtonMail? Did you find it easy? I'm also going to need to point (is that the right terminology??) to my Siteground/Wordpress website, although to be honest, I don't see how it's connected. My domain is hosted through Siteground, so maybe that's it. I am petrified of doing it. I remember the issues I had going from Wix to GoogleWorkspace, and that was traumatic enough.

Recently, I have mostly been listening to #EllaFitzgerald, Clap Hands, Here Comes Charlie.

Potentially my new favourite listen.

Very much looking forward to when this comes into play!

I occasionally feel shame for falling for the tabloids' view of George Michael when I was younger.

As a kid, I'd often see him derided for being just another pretty boy pop star, then when he got arrested in '98, he was just another gay bloke to mock. From then on, it seemed to be shame after shame for him, all of which were recounted in gory, salacious detail by the press, who couldn't get enough of digging into him.

And all the time, while fighting his own personal battles, he carried on privately being a force for good wherever he could.

He could have publicly and obviously given to charity in order to cleanse the mob's opinion of him. But he didn't. And it wasn't until he was dead that anyone knew about it.

And now, nearly a decade after his passing, everyone thinks it's top japes to actively avoid listening to his song. Just one more punchline.

Right. So Iโ€™m back at mumโ€™s. Not sure that the week could get much worse.

On Tuesday, not only did I have to endure my sibling during lunch, but on mumโ€™s routine hospital appointment for her kidneys, they found high potassium. This meant a 6 hour wait in A&E for bloods - and it was my birthday!

Then, today, I get a phone call from our friend Jane, who had taken mum for her INR blood test. As they were getting out of the car, Jane forgot to put the handbrake on. The car rolled about 200 metres before coming to a rest in a hedge. Jane got run over by her own car, and mum had her foot smashed by the open door.
So, another trip to A&E. I drove 2 hours from home. Thankfully, mum hasnโ€™t fractured anything, but we spent about 5 hours there. She has a lovely swollen foot and a big boot to wear and weโ€™re home. Thankfully Jane doesnโ€™t seem to have broken anything either and is on the way home.
My sibling, who was nearer, had to bring her date with her, illegally driving, gave mum a bag of stuff and then went back to her dateโ€™s house. https://lgbtqia.space/@saxifraga/115611972542937700

Attached: 1 image So, #today hasnโ€™t been too bad. Took mum to another appointment but they couldnโ€™t get any blood. Still, they checked her diabetes. Then drove home, listening to Ella Fitzgerald (lovely), and then my partner surprised me with tickets for a panto (along with mum and him) for January. Then we went out for a birthday dinner ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
