Welcome to MTG Card Saturday!

Today, I want to talk about Shoreline Looter, two-mana, unblockable creature that can generate tons of card selection and, in the late game, card advantage. On top of that, it’s from my favorite set, Bloomburrow, and it’s super affordable, costing only around 10 cents to pick up.

Pair this card with combat damage or card draw triggers, and you’ll see just how powerful a 10-cent card can be.

Welcome to MTG Card Wednesday!

Today, I want to highlight the Magic: The Gathering card [Hedge Shredder]. This card gives you so much value if you’re running a mill strategy, especially in decks like Sidisi, which thrive on small, repeatable mill triggers. It’s also budget-friendly, so pick one up if you can!

@GrimDeck I built it as a token go-wide strategy, but her upside when non-token spirits die helps with resilience.
@GrimDeck I have a Millicent, Restless Revenant deck.

Today I want to highlight the 5 cent card Storm of Souls.

I always hesitate to add expensive sorceries to my decks, getting countered feels awful. But with a full graveyard, casting it is a rush: all ETB effects trigger again, you get a swarm of evasive flyers, and suddenly you have a wall of blockers. It’s fantastic in my Spirit deck, but worth trying in others too!

Welcome to MTG Card Saturday!

Today I want to talk about Contaminated Landscape and the other landscapes in the set. I don’t really like Evolving Wilds because it comes in tapped, but Contaminated Landscape functions as a fetchland in 3+ color decks and can even tap for colorless late-game if you no longer need the colors. Additionally, it can even cycle if you’re in real trouble. The icing on the cake? They sell for about 5 cents. Pick one up!

Welcome to MTG Card Wednesday,

Today, I want to talk about the card Stonehorn Dignitary, which has single-handedly shut down my friend’s Voltron deck multiple times. It’s a fantastic target to blink repeatedly, and it can save you from dire situations, especially when you’re up against aggro decks.

If you’re running a blink deck, you should definitely consider adding this gem. It’s currently only 70 cents, making it a great budget-friendly option!

@GrimDeck Absolutely, it is absolutely destroy your whole board. It reminds me of annihilator.

In this series, I highlight Magic cards that stand out to me.

Today’s focus: Sovereign Okinec Ahau, one of my favourite commanders. At first glance, it seems like a typical counter commander, but it also synergizes with anthems like Anthem of Champions and Unnatural Growth, or cards with low base power like Botanical Brawler. My aim is to make my creatures as big as I can.

The downside is you have to attack, so if it gets removed, it might be too small to survive.

In this series, I highlight Magic cards that stand out to me.

Today’s focus: Phyrexian Obliterator, a card that excels as an attacker, few players dare to block it. Its ability is especially brutal against decks light on creatures, and it thrives in devotion-based strategies or decks that can repeatedly damage it without killing it.

The main drawback? Its steep cost: four black mana.
