*Almost all* of the population here (in #Malaysia) believes in them (Pontianaks), BTW, from what I anecdotally gather.

IMHO, if you don't talk to some of your Asian friends to understand their views more about the existence of ghosts, other realms, unseen beings, etc, I say you missed out on a huge part of the value of #Halloween. Like you might have dressed up - mere cosplay - but in a sense you weren't really "there", as to the _spirit_ of Hallowe'en, where there is an axiomatic admission (even for a little while) that these other realms exist.

Myself, I'm having a fascinating Halloween-themed convo with one of the local renowned healers I've made friends with, and we have touched on interesting questions like:

- What's up with poltergeists? Are they attached moreso to a place - like a haunted mansion? Or to specific people - who are somewhat on the same energetic "wavelength", as it were?
- The Christian deity Yahweh - would he be a deva, as Buddhism or Hinduism describes devas? Would he use shapeshifting to appear white (in race) to white people, and Arabic to Arabic people, as a skillful means of relating? #Buddhism acknowledges the existence of several kinds of shapeshifting deva/naga/asura
- What's up with having the holiday #Halloween, when Westerners usually have little to no belief in ghosts of any sort? The #Buddhist Worldview sort of necessitates a belief in other worlds and realms, which include such beings. It can be challenging to impart these views to Westerners that these other realms/beings not only exist, but they are sort of highly-relevent "plot devices" (for lack of a better term) which have a big impact on our lives, especially in a Spiritual and Cosmological sense (especially when we consider where we will go next after we die).
- How is it that Westerners don’t believe in hauntings? But believe in aliens and whatever other creatures during Halloween? This is highly inconsistent.
