Today on Threads, we’re expanding Hidden Words, which until now only were applied to replies, so you can filter out unwanted content from feeds, search, profiles, and post replies on Threads. We’re also testing ways to select who can quote you and the ability to mute notifications on your posts. I hope these features give you more control over your experience on Threads and help keep it a place for positive conversation. Let me know what you think, especially if you’re in the tests.
@stefan @waxy I already get too many articles where someone just reads and retypes Reddit posts. If these were original that'd be fun.
@konradmb @TechConnectify Let's take an hypothetical. If someone asks publically, "I wonder if <public figure> beats their spouse? I don't know, I'm just asking questions", the "proper response" is to block them, not respond. Responding amplifies their message, which is what they want. It's the equivalent of a "push poll" ... a bad faith question posed just to make folks think there might be some truth to the allegation, even when the questioner knows there isn't.
I made a new Mastodon bot! It uses three years of applications for custom license plates in Virginia that were rejected for being inappropriate (courtesy of a FOIA request by Virginia Public Media), and generates images of those plates. It posts twice daily. Some are funny, some are gross, some are weird little puzzles, and the number "69" shows up a lot. https://botsin.space/@rejectedplates/112151431401925961

Seeing if my post on threads makes it to the Fediverse.
@dangillmor Yeah, and they pull this nonsense on paying customers, too.
