We built a civilization where people need a productivity system to remember to drink water. Seems optimal.

This.

My method to break through this was bullet journaling - none of the art, but breaking each task down to the tiniest variables in order.

That was what I needed. How about you?

We can’t recycle our way out of the plastic crisis.

As long as companies keep ramping up plastic production, recycling will always be too little, too late.

The funniest LLM-writing quirk is founders stuffing “quietly” into every launch.

“We’re quietly building…”
“We quietly shipped…”
“We’re quietly changing…”

Mate, it’s fucking marketing. If you're being quiet about it, have you considered that you might be doing it wrong

"The time is coming when we’ll each have to declare our allegiance either to, or against, the Silicon Valley religion. This choice will be independent of whether we align ourselves with any traditional religion, or none at all: the question will simply be, do we put our faith in the ultimate authority of a machine god, built out of computer code and data centers, and owned by billionaire oligarchs?"

Wow. Great essay! A couple of highlights, but you should go read the whole thing

"So, to recap:

1. The pope issues a warning against turning AI into an idol.

2. Silicon Valley techies scoff at the pope, saying that they’re too busy creating a machine God that rivals the Second Coming."

"it’s hard to look at a pile of linear algebra and call it a god"
