My wife purchased food prepared with genjer leaves. "Genjer-genjer" was a very well-known song in the 1960s. This song was one of the propaganda songs used by the Indonesian Communist Party. This food was hard to find after the communist uprising in 1965 because people were still recalling the mood of the uprising. I don't think I ever had genjer until the 2000s. These days, it's pretty simple to find this dish. I took only the first picture. I downloaded the others from the internet.
I went to the community health center because I felt sick. You can receive medical examinations and treatments for free if you are registered with the Social Security Agency on Health; if not, medical examinations and all forms of medicine can be obtained for a single US dollar. Of course, you have to visit the hospital for more complicated illnesses.
The International Students Culture Day (post no. 3). These images show the performances by students from Arab nations. First up was a participant from #Palestine who shared historical stories about their nation. Next, participants from other #Arab countries also took to the stage. Apart from Palestine, students who appeared included those from #Egypt and #Syria.
This is the International Students Culture Day event, held at our university library. Foreign students set up booths to introduce their culture. These photos show students from #Pakistan, #Tanzania, #Zimbabwe, and various Arab countries. It was really fun to see them get to know each other and interact.
We were in "Taman Arkeologi" (Archaeology Park) at our university, which contains replicas of archaeological sites. This is a replica of the Jawi Temple. The original temple was built in the 13th century in Pasuruan, East Java.
