Largest study of its kind shows AI assistants misrepresent news content 45% of the time – regardless of language or territory. An intensive international study was coordinated by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and led by the BBC.

Not at all shocking. We all know about fake news. But what about fake news that isn't made for human consumption, but rather for digestion solely by LLMs, and designed to influence how they represent the news to others? Newsguard had a report about it earlier this year, regarding a Russia-based news network.

Just received an email from YouTube that they'll soon enable autodubbing on the OctoPrint channel for new and soon also old videos. Hell no, every time I run into this AI shit when watching YouTube I just want to scream, it's THAT bad.
Thankfully, there's a way to opt-out, and I just did that. And if you upload stuff to YouTube, for the love of all that is holy, PLEASE disable that too!
Uncheck Channel Settings > Upload defaults > Advanced Settings > Automatic dubbing
A lot of services that are supposedly running in EU are currently having significant issues due to AWS US-EAST-1 being impacted. But surely this is just some dependencies that are down and all our data is really stored in EU. Right?

@0xabad1dea it’s not exactly a conclusion. Matz and team have taken ownership of the software projects, while Ruby Central still controls the rubygems.org service.
I have doubts about RC’s governance considering their lack of transparency and their bad security practices (e.g. shared AWS root account credentials).
