Ever notice that most mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds with limbs have four of them? It's not a Law of Nature or anything, it's because one lobe-finned fish decided to crawl up onto land and IT had four limbs, and we're all descended from that one uppity fucker.
@K_REY_C well, technically I use fb even tho I haven't read the timelIne in years. I route Twitter to fb, sometimes read post that fb notifies about.
@KitRedgrave I'm tickled these are still floating around. Was kind of an obscure in joke when I first heard, probably back in mid 80's. I went to a talk by Knight once, good IIRC, but I was not enlightened.
@chenoehart I haven't unfollowed anyone for too much personal content, though I won't follow in the first place if almost all is personal. For me the big killer is politics. I self censor unpopular political views, and unfollow ppl who post too much boring political crap. You may want an alt or different forum to separate professional image from personal. I don't because on Twitter I'm not selling my employability.

So, possible 'hot take' here -

-NOBODY- looks good in the 'Reality Winner' case.

The Intercept was extremely careless with how they handled the material they were given.

Reality herself is apparently so utterly inept it's astonishing that she was able to get the document in the first place.

And the counterintel that managed to finally catch her? THEY are also inept; she -sucks- and she -still- managed to get the document out.

The year is 2X17. Due to the competitive advantage it gives them in the Technology Mines, humans have evolved an eyesight which perfectly corresponds to the sRGB gamut. Sunsets look boring now.

It's not so much that people forget about Usenet as that they forget why it died.

It got spammed to death.
It lost control over its culture, and that culture was crucial to its functioning.
It was too problematic for ISPs (or others) to provide ready access to it: spam, harassment, child pornography, and copyright violations all posed massive concerns.
There was no viable business model for providing the service.
