This is the new new me -- dredmorbius at toot.cat.

Migrating from mastodon.cloud, which is not, has not been, and will not be doing well.

Is this mostly dead or partly alive?

So, yeah, given #mastodonCloud's long-time flakiness and impending transfer to a pretty-much unknown entity, I'm going to be moving to toot.cat, as long promised and/or threatened.

We'll see how well the automigration stuff works.

I'll be interested to see if blocks propagate .... Both ways ;-)

Google resumes its senseless attack on the URL bar, hides full addresses on Chrome Canary

Google has tried on and off for years to hide full URLs in Chrome's address bar, because apparently long web addresses are scary and evil. Despite the

Why do I think web browsers would be simpler if they seperated forms from hypertext?

Because then for hypertext I can define HTML *almost* entirely by a CSS stylesheet, and not worry about more events than clicks & *maybe* copy/drag.

And I can handle webforms however's best for the device/OS! Without worrying about it conflicting the visual design of the page.

Without JS or inline forms, I don't have to implement the massively over-engineered OOP "Document Object Model"!

@dredmorbius You can bet I lean towards saying "madness", but some webdevs are crazy enough with their use of HTML/CSS that this actually makes sense.
