I use Scrivener! I'm working on a 5-7-book dystopian series and my workflow was getting hectic as I found myself constantly needing to switch between so many documents to reference my outline, research, worldbuilding and character files while #writing. Having only one window open that contains all of my files in one place in an easily organizable format has been an absolute game-changer for me. #scrivener

#WritersCoffeeClub Feb 2. Do you analyze structure and technique in other writers' work?

Yes, I try to glean as much as possible about the craft from every book I read, even if it isn't one of the genres I write. One of the things I recently learned from The Handmaid's Tale is how much work the right word used in the right place can do for setting, worldbuilding, tone, character development, tension, pacing, etc. Margaret Atwood said so much in very few words!

#WritersCoffeeClub Feb 1. Shameless self-promotion. What writing project are you working on?

I am writing an adult dystopian series. It's The Hunger Games meets The Handmaid's Tale. It's both a scathing critique of Christian nationalism and a love letter to the beautiful, resilient queer community. 🌈

I've been working on it seriously for a year and have written over 330k words. I've outlined 5 books, but it's starting to feel like I'll need 7 to tell the full story.
