Bold of you to assume the big bad has a bestie. He's all alone in this world... maybe that's why he's the antagonist, come to think of it. All he ever needed is a bestie!
Leda would pretend I don't exist, or she won't shut up about the evils I put her through for the sake of literary entertainment.

In one scene that I know of, there's a very sincere exchange of gratitude, but apart from that... let's say... the MCs have their own ways of expressing gratitude.
