I've been writing poetry for over 30 years. My background is in Violence Studies, Feminist Theology, and Interdisciplinary Humanities. I also write publicly about science fiction and ethics as well as the blossoming field of Space Ethics. Johns Hopkins alumnus.
I recently bought three items of beautiful art from @SurlyAmy. I just left raving reviews and I am not the kind of person to ever leave reviews.
The one I bought for myself has brought me a new joy I had a long forgotten, a renewed youth. The two items I bought for my mother gave her a glow in her eyes I don't see very often.

I spent the majority of my life living below the poverty line. It was only much later in life that I got a job with paid holidays off work. My only thoughts about about this "holiday" of #Thanksgiving are with those whom #capitalism forces to work.

There is a significant difference between embracing acceptance and embracing acceptance while simultaneously removing your burdens. I used to understand this art form. It feels quite beyond my strength to do so now.
So, what now, we just going to start another week? Just like that? Just going to do this over and over again?

RichardNaomi Klein’s The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism is brilliantly compiled, so far. I still have a ways to go. I was weary with the very poor blurbs and descriptions that made it seem like just another book exploiting #ableism and #mentalillness-as-metaphor, but that is not what is going on at all. The connections between #ECT and hyper- #capitalism are very real, and very well documented.
