@Moltz I spotted your InkPalm review minutes after ordering one for myself. I have a larger Boox device already. If you’re still looking at eink friendly epub reader apps, I’ve liked FBReader. They sync your books and progress via Google Drive with versions for Mac and iOS, and the beta APK on their website improves the look on eink.
@wiedo I run it on lots of things. Most often my steam deck, Mac laptop, and iPhone with a controller. Sometimes Apple TV.

I am a pretty big user of in-home game streaming, and I finally took the time to move my gaming PC from Nvidia GameStream (via GeForce Experience) to Sunshine. So far it's a big improvement!

If you want to stream your PC to any other device, the combo of Sunshine (server) and Moonlight (client) is great, and a great example of good tech rescued from a corporate death penalty by the open source community.

@hannah that’s great

I’ve just learned that the word Hermetic (as in Hermeticly Sealed) and Hermit (a person who lives in seclusion) are entomologicaly unrelated.

The word Hermit comes from Greek by way of Latin, originally “eremos”meaning desert-dweller.

The word Hermetic comes from the Greek god Hermes. A hermetic seal comes from alchemy in the tradition of Hermeticism. The legendary Hermes Trismegistus supposedly invented the process of making a glass tube airtight using a secret seal.

"Being able to say, ‘wherever you get your podcasts’ is a radical statement. Because what it represents is the triumph of exactly the kind of technology that's supposed to be impossible: open, empowering tech that's not owned by any one company, that can't be controlled by any one company, and that allows people to have ownership over their work and their relationship with their audience." https://www.anildash.com/2024/02/06/wherever-you-get-podcasts
