At Auschwitz memorial, survivors see echoes of the past in rising antisemitism

Auschwitz survivors have warned of the rising antisemitism and hatred in the modern world as they gathered with world leaders and European royalty on the 80th anniversary of the death camp’s liberation. In all, 56 survivors gathered under a huge tent on Monday set up over a gate and railway tracks at the site of the former camp. Many participants believe it will be the last major observance with any notable number of survivors. The numbers have dwindled sharply over the years; 200 attended the 75th anniversary.

“There’s a lot packed into this update on the emotional front” 1999’s Warframe’s Ben Starr talks about bringing some humanity to Arthur

Warframe 1999 is finally here and players are enjoying exploring the past, zooming on engines and thirsting for Viktor. However, it's also probably one of the biggest updates in terms of popular voice acting talent. Warframe has always been solid in the VO department, but with Ben Starr, Alf Takahashi, Amelia Tyler and Trive…

Unfortunately even with this, my mom pushed back saying she didn't understand why I didn't want to stay with them and save my money, because "we are family."

My thoughts? We're family, not a cult. I am so tired of gently pushing back to assert completely appropriate boundaries and them acting like I'm the one being difficult. I'm offended and hurt at their constant conflation of "love" with this inappropriate boundary crossing.

Going no contact isn't an option for me and I just.... It sucks.

My mom specifically said I should do it like I did "last time." "Last time" was over 20 years ago, I hadn't known they didn't have a second bed when I arrived (the prior time I'd been to see them they lived in the house I'd grown up in and I'd slept in my old bed) and I went along with it because I didn't want to fight, I was only newly out on my own and felt vulnerable and poor. But I'd known it was inappropriate even then.

I declined: "no thanks, it'll be no problem at all to get a room"

Really struggling to find the right tone to respond to a pretty blatant overstepping of boundaries by my parents. I'm 46, they're in their 80s, and I've got a trip booked to visit them. They live in a 2br apartment with 1br used as an office, and I was invited to "stay with them" and sleep in their one bedroom in the same bed as them for the week-long stay.
just realized Easter and the Transgender Day of Visibility coincide this year which means it's the world's ultimate egg hunt

The eldest among us remember the First Web, before search engines were Good Actually. They used secret magics to make sense of the chaos that was the First Web.

Site directories.

Web rings.

Home pages linking to trusted sites.

Homework and jello shooter recipes study notes.

Now that the Search Engines have fallen it is time to bring those ancient tools back, for ourselves and the youngest among us who never knew the First Web.

Don't forget that Saint Patrick is not the only saint whose feast day is March 17. It is also the feast of Saint Gertrude of Nivelles, the patron saint of cats and gardeners. #17thMarch #PatronSaintOfCats #StGertrude #cats #garden #gardening #gardeners
