throwing mince in soup is turning out to be an excellent idea, it feels so much more filling
it's such a great feeling that I've become the kind of queer girl with incredible fashion sense that I would've looked up to before
wait tomato sauce is actually pretty good

cooking eggplant requires mastering not just the element of fire, but also water

(turns out stir frying it with water alongside/or instead of oil works wonderfully because it steams the eggplant instead of just charring the outside)

It looks like the ⍼ saga has finally ended!

The unicode character '⍼' was a mystery first noticed in 2022: https://ionathan.ch/2022/04/09/angzarr.html. It's in the Unicode standard as a mathematical symbol. But no one could find any examples of it having been used, and no one knew what it represented. It was like the only record of an extinct species, fossilized in the Unicode standard.

But now someone has found the document it originally came from! It represents the angle 'Azimuth', and the symbol probably comes from the path light takes through a sextant. https://ionathan.ch/2026/02/16/angzarr.html

(@johncarlosbaez might appreciate this symbol!)

Send Me To Heaven (officially stylized as S.M.T.H.) is an Android application developed by Carrot Pop which measures the vertical distance that a mobile phone is thrown. Players compete against each other by seeking to throw their phones higher than others, often at the risk of damaging their phones.

"Order, order." Mister Muffins gazed slowly at the others around the gazebo, all comfortably resting in their identical, pink-and-blue-striped patio chairs. "Welcome to the sixty-seventh lunar gathering of the Nettle Place Society. The first item on our agenda—"

"What a bother," said Comtesse Mittens, barely stifling a yawn. "I was in the middle of sunbathing, you know."

"Comtesse, you know well this meeting is scheduled at the same time every moon—"

New post, and this one's definitely one of my weirder ones: it's about how most of the tech industry shows symptoms of something that looks like gender dysphoria.

Carbon Dysphoria | deadSimpleTech

And now the punchline: this depersonalisation, the weird relationship to their bodily existence, inability to enjoy things and an internal void that people constantly try and fill with what they're told they should want... all of these things are very similar to the experience of gender dysphoria.

What's your favorite "explore a maze where weird shit keeps happening," or XAMWWSKH? (Pronounced "exam whiskey")

Trying to define by example:

- Town of ZZT (and many more ZZT worlds)
- Zork
- Animal Well
- Most roguelikes don't fit but Nethack and Binding of Isaac do, because they emphasize unique events and interactions
- Glittermitten Grove fits, but Frog Fractions and the Frog Fractions Hat DLC are too linear
- Insanity (1989) by New Era Software is possibly the defining example in my mind
