semi-permanent is crap. go for the permanent stuff. specifically fudge hair colour as it is the brightest colour range i know

for context - i am currently rocking a shocking pink (extremely vibrant red) mohawk and have been since june, and only recolour it when the regrowth gets long enough to give me racing stripes.

the way i get it to stay bright for the longest is by bleaching the utter crap out of my hair so that it is almost white, then a REALLY fast shampoo (not conditioner) to get rid of all the bleach, then towel-dry until damp, then putting in the colour and combing it thru my hair like the instructions tell us to ... and not bothering to wash it out until the next day, but at that point doing a full tender-loving-care treatment on my hair with conditioners and strengthening stuff and whatever.

yes, punks wash. you can't get a hairstyle that can be recognised from low earth orbit without that hair being clean. the dinginess and "grime" is a carefully tailored image. we also read books. go figure.

anyway .. because the bleach is such an intense and harsh process (eg i use 40 vol peroxide) i gotta be real, REAL careful not to melt my hair off, so you might want to take the bleaching step of this process a bit easier than i do. the bleach leaves my hair in such horrible condition that first the paint and once it dries all the treament coatings and conditionings restore its' volume and the conditioning extra stuff is what gets worn away instead of the pigment.

so anyway, the TL:DR of all this is ... put volume-boosting and protective stuff in your hair after the colour. that's how to make it last a long time :)

@sjbone rupert got married a few months ago, remember? welp, the woman he married is the daughter of a soviet oligarch, was a legit member of the soviet intelligentsia herself, and her previous husband before rupe-rupe was another russian oligarch (who died suspiciously young, in bed with her)

it gets deeper tho. have a look at who rupert USED to be married to, and one of the names is that of a chinese oligarch named wendy deng. wendy is the person who introduced rupe and Elena Zhukova (related to the soviet WW2-era general)

yep, there's more levels. putin and deng were intriduced by elena's daughter's ex-husband in 2016 and for some really strange reason there hasn't been ANY reporting on wendy deng after that except for in tabloids where rumours that putin and deng were getting married got thrown around. hmmmm.

so yeh, basically putin, rupert, and a few of the other russian oligarchs are all crawling over each other like hamsters in a box. the viagra bills must be huge. i wonder when elena, who is descended from georgy the ww2 general, is gonna goldmine herself another inheritance?
