For every person out there with #ageist gripes about elected officials in #government let me explain how it works to you:

Elected officials are ELECTED from candidates who RUN FOR OFFICE. The candidate who GETS THE MOST VOTES wins the office. If younger candidates DON'T RUN, then they CAN'T WIN. If the people clamoring for younger reps DON'T VOTE, those candidates CAN'T WIN. And if those candidates campaign on attacking people over 40 who DO VOTE, guess what? That candidate CAN'T WIN.

The funny thing about the explosive migration to #threads is that it shows just how many people are absolutely sick of #Twitter and were desperate for an alternative (that they found viable - sorry #Mastodon you will never be "it"); it was a literal stampede. They HATED Twitter, but couldn't quit it without that alternative. This may come as a shock - you don't NEED social media. Civilization functioned fine for millenia without pictures of your lunch or having an influencer pick your wardrobe.

There is no way in HELL I would EVER allow a #Meta app on my device; might as well just email your bank account, medical records, and social security number to #zuckerberg , it's essentially the same thing. Same goes for #Twitter. Twitter has been the most prolific platform for misinformation for years; if #threads manages to crush #Elon's propaganda/hate/misinformation platform, I'm all for it, but I'm not going to make myself vulnerable. I hope the Social Media Wars kills ALL social media.
