HCI researcher. Assistant Professor in CS at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi.

My research explores the design and evaluation of multimodal interfaces, specifically focusing on the concept of perception. How can we share it, bend it, measure it. I am also particularly keen on the development of technologies that support industry professionals in the creation of such experiences.

Formerly Postdoc at the Haptic User Experience Group@ETSmtl. PhD at the Shared Reality Lab@McGillU.

Any Profs, PI, lab administrators willing to share their exciting self-hosted and open source solutions to facilitate the onboarding process for new students in your group?

Or alternatively, more generally, are you using self-hosted solutions for your research group's day to day activities?

Logging back here after two or three years (? definitely pre-ChatGPT). I am glad to see that space has not been overtaken with LinkedIn-flavored texts.

As I am moving more and more of my research and life on open source and self-hosted solutions, I will probably use this medium more in the future!

Want to help redesign one of the most popular and widely-used tools for researchers?

Zotero is hiring a designer: https://www.zotero.org/jobs/ui_designer

Would do it if I could. Ideal for someone else who has great UX / product design chops.

Whenever I review papers these days I realize I need to get way more comfortable making bigger claims, because apparently everyone else is just fine claiming whatever the heck they want.

What makes #user #interfaces "intelligent"? In 2020, we analysed 25 years worth of papers published at the @acmiui conference to investigate the emerging perspective on the term. ✍️ Here's a summary of our findings: https://medium.com/p/9f63b27ca39

Hey there!

I am a #postdoc researcher at HUX@ETSmtl where I am exploring how #haptics can be used to enhance voice interactions in general, but more specifically with smart assistants! I am particularly interested in anything related to perception... How can we assess or "measure" it, how can we bend it through cross-modal stimulation, how can we repectfully share our perception of things to foster healthier digital lives, etc.
