⛵️Flotilla Update⛵️: The Globa Sumud Flotilla (GSF) Arrives to Turkey.

After 24 days—across a stop on the island of Sicily, an Israeli interception, almost two days of detainment on an Israeli prison boat, and a recent stop on the island of Crete—over 30 GSF ships from Barcelona and Italy arrive to Marmaris, Turkey.

The Turkish coast guard and local GSF fleet, including the “Family” boat that was attacked by a drone and decommissioned during the mission last fall, sailed out to greet us near where the flotilla will anchor off the coast.

The Sumud Flotilla will dock here for the organization to conduct an international assembly—and to hold press conferences and organization-wide briefings—in order to discuss collectively the flotilla’s next steps and publicly agitate for safe passage to Gaza.

Why the move? FediSuite is intentionally moving away from being dependent on large US tech corporations. GitHub is owned by Microsoft and runs on US infrastructure – which raises legitimate questions in light of the US CLOUD Act and digital sovereignty. Codeberg is operated by a German non-profit association and is a much better fit for a project built around self-hosting, independence, and European infrastructure.
