I'm an informal Barbra Streisand historian, and was a charter member of Prince's NPG Music Club. I also love #StarWars, #Disneyland, and sing too!

Sometimes the headlines are so strange to read...

"Oh, there's nothing to see really. We're inside a Chinese Dragon."

------

Judy: "Let me tell you something, love means never having to say you're sorry."

Howard: "That's the dumbest thing I ever heard."

So long, "Steve." I like Steve better anyway.

Claps up for Ryan O'Neal. One of the best at being the "straight man" in comedy there ever was.

I wasn't expecting to write about this. What could I say that I hadn't already said? Well.....surprise! I found out.

At at fan convention in Chicago with my oldest friend, who cracked that this sign may have a more ominous meaning than intended! Lol!

#Barbie is a masterwork of freakin' genius. One of the smartest sociopolitical movies ever. Hilariously funny in its human commentary, wink wink nudge nudge humor, and one unexpectedly perfect break of the fourth wall.

I was not expecting a #movie so whipsmart, clever, ironic, meta & strangely moving.

I expect major Oscar nominations, but the *must* nom is Ryan Gosling's. His performance is one of the funniest in #Hollywood history.

May 31, 2015 - from my camera the night I saw Tony Bennett with Lady Gaga at The Hollywood Bowl.

Tony - my favorite male singer. A twinkle in his eye (this shot was taken while he was singing "How Do You Keep The Music Playing?") and always basking in the glow of how much joy music brought him.

I am so glad I was able to be in his presence once. Big love!

WHAT MATTERS MOST, a lovely tribute to Barbra’s long-time friends and collaborators, Alan and Marilyn Bergman, deserves more flowers than it received in 2011.

It had been a while since Barbra had fun on record with brighter, jazzier material like "Nice n' Easy" and "That Face."

My favorite: β€œAlone In the World” - an absolutely breathtaking arrangement and performance with Chris Botti on trumpet.

In 2003, I wrote:

"THE MOVIE ALBUM will go through time as gracefully as Barbra's albums of the 1960's. The gentle, classic arrangements render her vocal performances among the most relaxed, joyous & personal of her musical career.

It is very easy to say that each album she releases is "the best she's ever done." She has a near indescribable ability to top herself each time out."

My mind hasn't changed. More in the fall for the 20th anniversary.
