I'm legitimately curious what kind of incentives are in place that lead to FedEx delivery drivers consistently lying about package deliveries.
To be clear, I am NOT blaming the drivers. This doesn't happen in a vacuum.
About half of my FedEx deliveries end up being marked as delivered when they aren't, or they log a delivery attempt that never happened. The former JUST happened to me. I literally watched the truck drive by my house without even slowing down.
The packages always show up eventually. Is this some sort of SLA evasion for delivery times? Why lie about this? I honestly don't care if my package takes an extra week. Just tell me the truth!
Do FedEx drivers get punished if they don't do this? I definitely don't want that. They work so hard, especially this time of year, to make sure people get the stupid shit they order on the internet. But sometimes it's not stupid shit. Sometimes it's medication. And FedEx should really create a system and incentive structure that rewards telling the truth. I can live without my new wok spatula for a few days, but this could be a real problem for some folks.
