As I prepare to deliver my 8th report to the UN, I reiterate: Israel poses a threat to international peace and security.
I have documented its most egregious crimes. Now the obligation to act, and stop it, sparing innocent lives, rests with you.
If European governments are serious about helping families with their energy bills, they need to restructure how the wholesale price of electricity is set.
“We generate about 90% of our annual consumption from renewables,” said Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker. “But we pay the price for electricity as generated by gas power plants. That’s almost twice as much.”
If gas contributes 10% of the electricity mix, why, WHY should it determine 100% of the wholesale price?

I saw a comment the other day about how renewables and EVs are only viable cos of subsidies. I wish it was better known by the general population just how much governments subsidise the fossil fuels industry. In .NL it's something like €40bn a year. Now imagine if we spent that on district heating, and public transport, and heat pumps? And actually built the offshore wind farms that noone tendered for.
This all seems so fucking obvious.
Facial recognition scanning in public places does not create a sense of safety or trust. Most think the opposite. They see it as an invasion of their privacy while they go about their everyday business.
Now I know many will argue if you live in a city you are constantly being filmed by cctv anyway. True. That doesn’t make it right.
Using AI to then cross reference is proven to be racially biased and inaccurate.
Who checks the irrelevant footage is then deleted?
