Not that anyone reading my feed is who should be reading this, but if you have fond memories of BBC Basic and the BBC Micro, you're not allowed to be transphobic and have to boycott Harry Potter. Sorry (not sorry), I don't make the rules.

(Those things were made by a trans woman: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophie_Wilson#BBC_Micro)

Please share with people who discovered computers in the 80s and grew up to be bigots. Even the worst villain can have a Heel-Face Turn redemption arc.

We've been on X/Twitter for many years, but it's time to reduce our activity there and instead promote Mastodon as our main social media channel now. So we've done just that: https://x.com/LibreOffice/status/2026204949760131158 – Welcome to all our new followers here 😊

Hello, world! 👋 From now on, Mastodon is our preferred social media channel. It's an open source, decentralised platform – not controlled by tech giants. Follow us here: https://t.co/KZpwR61V5R

The European Parliament has voted for #Trans women to be recognised as women 🥳

Meanwhile in terf UK ....

You prob know this already, but if you duck-search, you can go to a slightly different entry point at https://noai.duckduckgo.com to do web searches without AI slop dumping on you.

I see they've dressed up the landing page there! Now more obviously non-AI. I mean, it's a selling feature, so yeah, go to town guys.

(if you still google things, consider the duck search! it's worked well for me for years, and the non-ai version is a nice step forward).

There is a petition on the UK Parliament website to legally recognise nonbinary as a gender – which would include an X marker on UK passports for nonbinary people.

The deadline to sign is March 2026 and at the time of writing only 213 people have signed.

Let's show them the power of the Fediverse. At 100,000 signatures, the petition will be debated in Parliament.

Petition: Legally recognise non-binary as a gender

Non-binary isn’t a legally recognised gender in the UK. We urge the Government to legally recognise non-binary as a gender and people who identify as non-binary in the UK. This proposal would include an X marker on UK passports for non-binary people.
