I don't want to hear about your web3/crypto/AI shit.

@baldur Yeap. Also it found the same bug 250 times, not 250 separate bugs. And then one of the bugs required them to recompile Firefox to turn off some of the security features like its whole sandboxing to get to something exploitable. The OpenBSD bug would’ve been found by a fuzzer if anyone had actually bothered etc.
@Misofist I think our AI policy was @kim creation 😄.
@hughrawlinson Bestagon!
@chuuchuu I would avoid the warning triangle. That suggests something has happened that will disrupt my journey.

For this particular case, I think an icon that more explicitly depicts the type of information would be helpful. Like https://www.flaticon.com/free-icon/track_7186055. Probably in some colour like purple(?), something that's not otherwise used in the UI. Draws enough attention without an "ah crap there goes my day."
@Foxboron What surprised me was the response of “you should fix Postgres” in the face of a massive performance regression. They didn’t break user space I suppose but it kinda feels like it still?

@dgold @kim Clanker originally comes from Star Wars as far as I’m aware. It doesn’t come from wanker, it’s from the clanking noise separatist battledroids make. It’s more meant as a pejorative for robots, intelligent or not.

Folks have started to use it for AI, but it’s not about the boosters. It’s a slur for the model/AI.

@kim I don’t like clanker either. I like “slop machine,” keeps the slop, link to slot machine gambling. I feel like that’s pretty spot-on.

Age verification clearly doesn't belong into #systemd. We should have never merged this. Instead this should be incrementally added to the kernel itself. I'm doing my part:

[PATCH] vfs: require verified birth date for file creation - Christian Brauner

@baldur I think they might’ve covibed their rate limiting because I’m hitting this all the time now.
We have spent 100x more compute training AI to generate waifu art than to solve protein folding. I am not saying this is the Great Filter, but if aliens find our radioactive remains, they’re going to be very confused by the hard drives...
