Just got this account limited from Mastodon. What does this mean?
Can anyone see my toot?
You're going to see this picture more in coming months; it's the clearest example of fraud at Tesla. Musk shows off an inert lump of rock, pretends its a functioning prototype for a solar roof, uses this as a reason to buy SolarCity, which is owned by his cousins and was about to collapse into bankruptcy.
When Tesla was soaring, nobody cared to sue. You can't have a court case without victims. But now? the stock is way way down. The whole forgiving dynamic is about to change.

The Myth of Plastic Recycling

The plastic industry has spent tens of millions of dollars promoting the benefits of plastic, a product that, for the most part, was buried, was burned or, in some cases, wound up in the ocean. The problem has existed for decades. In all that time, less than 10 percent of plastic has ever been recycled.

Meanwhile, plastic production is ramping up.

The Myth of Plastic Recycling

For many, recycling feels like a tangible way to personally combat climate change and to positively affect the environment. But after a years long investigation, NPR correspondent <a href="https://www.npr.org/people/4624985/laura-sullivan">Laura Sullivan</a> finds that reality is generally the opposite: Only a small fraction of plastic is ultimately recycled. Moreover, plastic production is on the rise.<br/><br/>Further reading:<br/><em>- </em><a href="https://www.npr.org/2022/10/24/1131131088/recycling-plastic-is-practically-impossible-and-the-problem-is-getting-worse"><em>Recycling plastic is practically impossible — and the problem is getting worse</em></a><em><br/>- </em><a href="https://www.npr.org/2020/09/11/897692090/how-big-oil-misled-the-public-into-believing-plastic-would-be-recycled"><em>How Big Oil Misled The Public Into Believing Plastic Would Be Recycled</em></a><em></em>

Mastodon has roughly 1% as many active users as Twitter. But it feels like much more than 1%. Why is that?

Because we're not a random 1%. People in some communities are much more likely to find Mastodon appealing. For example, at least 30% of the people I follow on Twitter are on here, based on their Twitter bios.

This "homophily" makes it easier for communities to reach critical mass. The downside is that it makes Mastodon more of an echo chamber (on top of the other reasons that make it so).

Elon Musk is Still Silencing the Journalists he Banned from Twitter.

It looks like our accounts have been reinstated, but it's an illusion: We're actually locked out and can't post anything without deleting specific tweets the billionaire doesn't like.

“Your legal responsibility is — as Tesla’s own public commitments state — ‘to serve as a prudent fiduciary for shareholders and to oversee the management of [Tesla’s] business,’” she wrote, citing the board’s statement on corporate governance.”🔥#uspolitics https://www.msnbc.com/the-reidout/reidout-blog/elon-musk-elizabeth-warren-tesla-twitter-rcna62603

Men like Jeremy Clarkson and Piers Morgan should be outcasts for targeting women in the way they do. But in our upside down world they’re looked up to by other men… and invited to parties by the Queen Consort.

Abolish the monarchy.

Elon has gone on damage control banning journalists. Any and everything related to me is banned. So much for free speech.
