Cyd for Bluesky is here! Iβve been working on this for months, and also using it on my own account for months. Here are my settings:
- Delete posts older than 30 days unless they have at least 20 likes or 20 reposts
- Delete reposts older than 30 days
- Delete likes older than 30 days
- Delete chat messages older than 21 days
At some point I want to add Mastodon support too, but itβs slow going
Mastodon users may not need this, but Bluesky users do! π¦
If you or someone you know also have a Bluesky account, you might want to look at @cyd to facilitate post deletion and good data minimization practices.
We're happy to announce today a new way to do this easily: Cyd for Mobile! π¦οΈβ¨
Why should everything you post on social media stay online, and public, forever?
It's *your* data! You should have the power to keep it, move it, and delete it as you please.

We're happy to announce today the release of Cyd for Mobile! π²π¦οΈ
If you have an account on Bluesky, you can use Cyd's new mobile app to easily and automatically clean up your data.
The app backs up and deletes your old posts, likes, and other data, while leaving what you actually want people to see when they look up your account.
Why should everything you post on social media stay online forever? It's your data, it should be your choice!

I just emailed a strongly worded letter
to my government representative to oppose Bill C-22.
If you are Canadian, you should too: https://action.openmedia.org/page/188754/action/1

π¨ Bill C-22 forces every Canadian internet provider, messaging app & cloud service to build surveillance backdoors and store a year of your data. Foreign state hackers exploited similar legislation in the US. Shut the backdoor: https://openmedia.org/StopC22 #BillC22
