If you love #ClassicalMusic, or music history in general, check out the Daily Classical Music news letter, by Laura Lawrie. To me, it’s been a wonderful way to start my day.

Today’s post on JS Bach (and Jethro Tull): https://lauralawrie.substack.com/p/daily-classical-music-post-db2

@gregorj - Same. Loved the book when I first read it, and now loving the audiobook.

NGL, “The Dark Forrest” wasn’t as good for me, and I dropped it after 400 pages: it’s why I picked up the audiobook in the first place, hoping I can power through it this way. I can see the story is building up to something big, but The Dark Forrest had a few issues I had a really hard time with.

Do you #journal? Been using @DayOneApp for this for a few years, and while I love it, I’m thinking about moving back to paper: I spend most of my day in front of a screen, and I feel there’s an unstructured creativity to paper that’s hard to tap into w/a device.

What do you do?

@Abibliophobia good recommendations. I think The Dog Stars sounds more in the vein than The Pesthouse, but both sound like interesting reads. (The whole “reaching the coast” theme in The Pesthouse reminds me of The Road.)
@uhlissuh @bookstodon - Reading one called “Waking Noah’s Vines” by Vahan Zanoyan, which is a mystery but also a great introduction to Armenian wines and their history.
@liztai LOL - Same!
@krparadis I’ll check out Wanderers, thanks!

If you like #TheLastOfUs and are looking for similar #BookRecommendations here you go:

- The Road (Cormack McCarthy)
- The Girl with All the Gifts (Mike Carey)
- Station Eleven (Emily St John Mandel)
- The Passage (Justin Cronin)
- The Gunslinger (Stephen King)
- Cell (King)

Got any more? Let me know! #books #bookstodon

One day, eventually, I will be good enough at cooking to use carbon steel or cast iron without destroying all the food I thrust upon it. I might even be able to cook a proper egg! Until that day, I guess I’ll use non-stick.
