Accessing lemmy through mastodon is also working pretty well, you can look at magazines (the subreddit equivalent) as if they are users. But it’s somewhat limited in usefulness as threading doesn’t seem to be perfect. Kbin isn’t working with masto yet
I’ve been checking out both #lemmy and #kbin for a Reddit replacement. Most people seem to like the kbin interface better, but I’m actually vibing with lemmy a little more. Also federation between kbin and some lemmy instances is a bit patchy, which means you miss some content because most of it is happening on lemmy.world right now. Just using browser so far but excited for the release of #artemisapp or similar. There is already some meme lore being created which is a good sign…

BlueSky uses AI to label content for moderation, and to do that they use a company called https://thehive.ai. If you look through their privacy policy, you will see that they can use content sent to them to train models for all their services, which include generative AI for both text and images.

I see a lot of posts here saying “#Mastodon should do xyz if it wants to become mainstream/grow/appeal to more people”. Yes, lots of features could be made more intuitive or easier. But the reason it’s “behind” is also the intrinsic good at its core - Masto isn’t “competing” against anyone, it doesn’t have growth targets or marketing campaigns. No one is paying to buy your data here, there is no profit incentive to get people to join. Doing things the right way takes time #fediverse
