I'm a blind IT Accessibility professional with a chemical engineering degree. I’m naturally curious and fervently determined. I enjoy conversation of all types, whether on the internet, in real life, or via amateur radio. I'm into reading, playing piano, and listening to weird but beautiful instrumental music. I also enjoy experiencing new things, and look forward to meeting folks and exchanging ideas and learning from those that have a different perspective than me.

Time to remember how to switch instances. I know it's not hard but ... been a bit.
Receiving an email from a group maskerading as HR and not signed at all is truly weird and a bit terrifying.
Yep. Ensure plus vanilla tastes way better cold and well shaken. Who knew that reading directions on the box would actually be a good thing.
Going to start a side hustle math sci transcribing gig. I’ve been sharing with my wife and using her Duxbury braille transcriber license, but I think that I need to buy one for myself now. I had forgotten that the license was $695 though. Dang.
I’m reading the executive order https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/implementing-the-presidents-department-of-government-efficiency-workforce-optimization-initiative/ and I feel like I live in a monarchy or a dictator now. Probably gonna have to start looking for a job. What a mess.
Implementing The President's "Department of Government Efficiency" Workforce Optimization Initiative

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered:     Section 1.

Heck yeah. Dungeon crawler Carl came out today. I honestly thought it was going to come out in a month or so. What a surprise. I’ve read maybe half of it using the Patreon chapters, but it is always more awesome listening to the Audible version which is why I stopped.
Still having lots of work related stress based on forced return to office. I have a permanent reasonable accommodation request to remote work due to medical reasons. If I’m required to return and my RA is rescinded I suppose I’ll have to file some kind of legal madness, and start looking for work. Here’s hoping I’m treated fairly. I’m truly physically not able to return to the office right now. I wish I could, I like working in the office, but right now, medical issues truly an obstacle to doing that. I’m scared, stressed out, and worried. I know all of those things are synonymous, but those feelings are real right now, and I think they’re real for a lot of federal employees. #disability #a11y #FederalEmployment
Here’s a sad blast from the past. If you search “disability white house” you get a frozen archive from the Obama admin. Sadly, now, we do not exist. https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/issues/disabilities
Disabilities

The President is committed to nurturing a society that values the contributions of all of our citizens and residents, including the approximately 50 million people in this country living with disabilities.
