@winter I caught a blue-checked far right misogynist on Twatter advocating for more mental institutions. It’s the whole bloody political spectrum- left, right, and center.

@KevinCarson1 @psychoalpastor

Ah dollar democracy - where those who have the most dollars get the most votes.

Its amazing how so many right wing libertarian policies lead back to the rich man in the local castle bossing the rest of us around. Just one of those things I guess.

Okay it was nice that the organic grocery store clerk was nice to me on the phone but this is now our third back-and-forth after my second attempt at ordering my items and it just really defeats the purpose of ordering online if it requires this much negotiation 🫠

I explained over email that it’s hard for me to find an opportunity to talk on the phone and she keeps calling & leaving voicemails and that’s fine but what I like about using the internet to order things is the *none of all of this*

If you’re using social networks to find news about the things you’re interested in (yes, that includes Mastodon), it’s time to stop and use something that was actually made for that: RSS!

So I made a quick video about this old tech, and how it’s still the absolute best way of curating what you read, watch, receive, or listen to:

STOP using SOCIAL MEDIA for News, RSS is MUCH BETTER!

The all-hail-means-testing/no-one-wants-to-work-anymore/mass-layoffs-for-the-shareholders crowd is... afraid of having to work, or to hire staff who'd do the work. They demand cleanliness and ease, but working towards that on their own behalf is beneath them.

This is shocking news. I may need a new fainting couch.

"A school district in Pennsylvania must allow students to convene an After School Satan Club, a federal judge ruled on Monday.

“In a victory for free speech and religious freedom, a federal court has ruled that the Saucon Valley School District must allow the After School Satan Club to meet in district facilities,” the ACLU announced.

In a Monday filing, issued in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and shared by the ACLU, a judge found that “here, although The Satanic Temple, Inc.’s objectors may challenge the sanctity of this controversially named organization, the sanctity of the First Amendment’s protections must prevail.”

The school district must allow the After School Satan Club, which is sponsored by The Satanic Temple, to meet during the school year on three previously agreed-upon dates, but it won’t have to distribute permission slips for the club for students to take home, according to the filing."

The gas-stove analogy

What dysfunction is it that leads the Times to pair a positive “smooth talking” with a tragic “self-proclaimed authoritarian” as if threatening a dictatorship is not the start and end of the story here?

Weaknesses in current leadership books, example #27:
Book: "In today's transactional employment market, ..."

Clippy: "Did you mean to say 'because we busted unions and ripped apart worker protection regulations'?"
