Turns out if your server isn't running authorized fetch—a setting non-admins basically cannot see—a user-level "domain block" is a euphemism 🙄 I dug around and found a random post saying that .social does not appear to have this setting active. I am displeased. I liked being on a 'general-purpose' server so I could post any bullshit I like without worrying about being on topic.
But maybe it's time for this move.

I haven't been following this because
a) I already dealt with it to my satisfaction when I domain-blocked Threads LAST YEAR
b) ugh, I just feel like there are bigger threats in my day-to-day
but just to check: an individual domain-blocking Threads is adequate to cast them into the blackness of the void, yes?
And is anyone I care about on a server that is going to defederate from .social because of something Eugen said or whatever?

I’ve been working on this Vampire the Masquerade chronicle that I’m starting to run on Monday. I decided to keep things simple and just set the game in Toronto in 2010. None of my players are Canadian so I can just say whatever I want and they’ll believe me 😆
I’m trying to populate the game setting with NPCs as diverse as Toronto is, and WOW my life would be so much easier if I just settled for portrait art of all white people 🫠 the tools are COMPROMISED
