Yes I did set my alarm for 5am to watch #USNWT

Great goalkeeping and ball control so far. Hope they keep up this pressure!

I got my shipment of tree seedlings from the Virginia Dep’t of Forestry yesterday! Virginia pines, loblollies, serviceberries, and button bushes are going to be great additions to our little ecosystem.

I’m taking my time with placement. A perennial in the wrong spot can be transplanted, but a tree with max height of 70+ is a different story.

Instead of just listing a bunch of Black accomplishments to try to counter that lie, I want us to look at the language that US folk use to describe discoveries or inventions. It's dripping with racism and white centering.

Non-white people are invisible. They don't even count. When we say "discovered," we really mean discovered "for white people." This is baked into our language.

This "I only see white people" impacts people of all other races, but anti-Black racism is most egregious.

#Rewilding doesn't have to be big projects. Microrewilding is an option with smaller urban spaces. Insects & birds will thank you. https://www.resilience.org/stories/2023-01-31/urban-microrewilding-projects-provide-a-lifeline-for-nature/
Urban ‘Microrewilding’ Projects Provide a Lifeline for Nature

The gravity of the biodiversity crisis underscores the need for big change. But it can start with small actions, too, that can be applied anywhere — no matter how small a space, in how densely populated a city.

Hi! If you're promoting car-reduced/more walkable areas in cities, or any designs/research around that, can you please consider if what you're posting is accessible?

Because I don't think I've seen this *month* someone post anything on walkable cities that I thought could be used safely by someone in a wheelchair. Anything. That's how bad it is. And likely we'll all end up needing a mobility aid at some point in our lives, so why not design for our own futures?

Imagine if every city, county, state, provincial, and national government on Earth would make a serious and urgent effort to achieve the outcome shown here.

We're very, very far away from that today — especially in the US — but it's possible!
