Hobby gamedev. Likes 8bit stuff. Currently working on a Play.Date Roguelike and a Z-Machine interpreter.

Milestone: Implemented section 3 of the ZMachine spec in my Apple II interpreter. Can use it to dump strings from Czech via the various print instructions (shown running on the GS below)

I completed my goal of making a game (albeit one that takes 30 second to play) entirely in 6502 on the Apple IIGS at #ggj2026. It was a lot of fun and very satisfying, and I'll probably do it again at future jams.

Set myself a challenge for #ggj2026 - build a game in 6502 assembly entirely on the IIGS. For bonus points also only use (scanned) books for reference.
Hit a solid milestone in my ZMachine interpreter for the Apple II. The various print opcodes now work, as demonstrated below by a test program running on my Apple IIGS that just dumps all the strings in a tiny v3 story (compiled in Inform 6).
It's been an unproductive year for gamedev. I worked on a game engine for the #playdate but my interest petered out. My current project is liskon, a Z-machine interpreter written in C. This is actually the third stab I've taken at an interpreter, previously writing ones in Python and Rust.
Took a bit of a detour from other projects and started working on a
#playdate
game that is intended to be an Erie-canal themed Paperboy-like. It's a remake of a half-finished game I worked on in Unity. The current goal is to build a whiteboxed prototype to test and tune gameplay.
Thanks to everyone who watched, donated to, and presented on the Buffalo Game Space fundraising stream yesterday! We hit our goal of $10,000 which enables us continue to serve Buffalo's amazing local game dev community.
Shout out to https://ozmoo.online/ which I just used to turn my #punyinform semi-game into a runnable C64 disk image. Very cool!

For assorted and dull reasons, I ended up with more of an Act I than an actual game for #buffalogamespace 9DJam.

Still, it was good practice at using #punyinform to write some #interactivefiction.

With the #IFComp registration deadline in the rearview mirror, we are now opening fundraising for the 2024 Colossal Fund!

https://blog.ifcomp.org/post/757904520590278656/the-2024-colossal-fundraiser-has-begun

Just like last year, we're shooting for $10k, which would be amazing!

As in previous years, 80% of the fund is redistributed to the top 2/3rds of entrants, and 20% goes to IFTF's general fund.

Fund the next generation of interactive fiction! And/or please boost! Thanks 🙂

The 2024 Colossal Fundraiser has begun!

Hello, friends. We are just under a month out from this year’s IFComp games being released. SO EXCITING!! (Unless you’re an author who is furiously testing and revising and recompiling and testing and...
