See normally when an algorithm requires The Entire Global Supply Of Ram, a software engineer would consider that not a good algorithm, and would try and make a better one instead of optimising the entire planet for paperclip manufacturing.

Unfortunately we accidentally gave a bad software engineer too much money

Hey! Democratic Candidates! You keep sending me fundraising texts and I keep STOPing them. Here's why:

Of course you are not trump. I can assume that. It's nice that you are former whatever. It's not important. Yes, you are in a tight race. We all are.

What I want to hear from you is what you believe in. Are you committed to universal free healthcare? Ditto child, maternity, and elder care? Will you reform our government: abolish Electoral College; end filibuster; expand Supreme Court; Impeach/prosecute corrupt politicians; Rein in overreaching executives; Raise minimum wage; Support free public education at all levels; Fight the green fight? etc etc

Tell me what you believe, what you will fight for. Otherwise. Just. Stop.

Calendar apps should let individuals rename shared events for themselves, without renaming the event for all the invitees. If I have coffee with Sally, the same event should be named “Paul coffee” for Sally and “Sally coffee” for me.

Do any calendar clients out there do this? It seems so obvious. Am I just missing it?

That *is* the intent and why AI is a project of class domination.” — https://disjunctionsmag.com/articles/why-leaving-big-tech/

maybe instead of having an "agile manifesto", you could have made "a union"
I always thought AI would take all our jobs, I just...you know... thought it would work first. 🤷

The arms race between students cheating with AI and schools trying to detect it keeps getting sillier. Students are now using “humanizes” which dumb down writing to make it less likely to look AI generated.

Some people will go to any lengths to not learn the material or do the work.
