Zach Bennoui@beep Great article, I agree with all of this. I worry about older people especially, my mom is a good example of this, who rely too much on LLMs to get information or conduct research. At the same time, they definitely have their uses, but I'm sick and tired of the hype. These things are not magic boxes, they are not some new species. They can do amazing things absolutely, but they're not the be all end all solution.
x0@beep As a recent graduate who is blind and thus can really only possibly work in tech somewhere with any chance of equality, and as somewhat of an idealist, I wonder if it's even worth trying to seek employment or whether I should just give up now and let myself fade. I won't use the AI tools. I like programming, but in 2026 I don't believe I could honestly do it anywhere except in niche spaces the models haven't filled yet, like obscure scripting languages. And yet, I need to work with computers. It's the only thing I have passion for. And I live in the US, and due to my disability am quite isolated, no local friends, though I do have a support system in the form of my immediate family.
@beep I suppose I need not get involved *in* the sector, every company these days needs computer people, but the most likely thing for that is startups, and I don't trust them in this economy. And I have no prior work experience. So I'm mostly at a loss as to what choice I even have to keep my soul.

The class warfare is just one part.
The other part is that crypto and AI create artificial resources that can be extracted, and history is very clear that only when leaders need human labour, healthy and educated, there will be democracies.
So it's a fascist project.
