5/5: Having just finished book 4 in the Other Witch series I was worried that I couldn’t love Stacey and Robbie as much as Amber and Bastion. There was no danger of that! Stacy is a brilliant, strong female lead with a family that made me really laugh out loud at one point! The High King of the Ogres showed us a totally different side and I lapped it up! Throw in a couple of murders to solve, with twists to keep you guessing and a very interesting bird called Loki. I devoured this book in one day and now find myself very eagerly anticipating book 2! George Rae was appointed Edinburgh's "plague doctor" in 1645 after the first doctor died. He was promised a huge sum of money as it was expected that he, too, would die before he could collect. Rae tended to the sick and survived. He spent 10 years trying to collect the fee.
