A walking contradiction sums me up best!! I refuse to be defined by crap that life throws at us sometimes. But the glass is never half full as I drink fast!
I love Motorsport, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, LOTR, reading/books, photography, history, genealogy (used to do it professionally), Eurovision & much more! I recently started sketching and love art.
I home educate my 12 year old daughter & I have an adult (allegedly 😊) son.
I am a L&D professional who moved into social care.
The prologue, about the first murder victim, tugged at my heartstrings. I am loving Stacy, Robbie and Loki even more. We get to learn a little more about a traumatic experience from when Stacy was 16, get to fall a bit more in love with Robbie and Loki and try to solve several murders too! Once again, I am left desperate to read the next book! Especially because of an envelope at the end of the book! Stacy and Robbie are now my favourite pairing by far in the Other World realm. #bookstodon
Karen's review of Veiled Justice (The Other Detective #1)

5/5: Having just finished book 4 in the Other Witch series I was worried that I couldn’t love Stacey and Robbie as much as Amber and Bastion. There was no danger of that! Stacy is a brilliant, strong female lead with a family that made me really laugh out loud at one point! The High King of the Ogres showed us a totally different side and I lapped it up! Throw in a couple of murders to solve, with twists to keep you guessing and a very interesting bird called Loki. I devoured this book in one day and now find myself very eagerly anticipating book 2! The great thing with the books in the Other Wo...

George Rae was appointed Edinburgh's "plague doctor" in 1645 after the first doctor died. He was promised a huge sum of money as it was expected that he, too, would die before he could collect. Rae tended to the sick and survived. He spent 10 years trying to collect the fee.

This is genius Albert Einstein who refused to speak at white colleges and at the end of his life spoke exclusively at black universities
"The separation of races is not a disease of colored people but a disease of white people. I do not intend to be quiet about it.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
And may the new year suck much less
Than the last three years combined

1 fun thing to do on New Year's Day to set the tone for a historic 2023, dear #histodons: march around the city carrying a giant #bratwurst. Just like this German pamphlet reports about the sausage celebration on New Year's Day 1601: "Warhafftige Beschreibung der langen Bratwurst ... Welcher im anfang des Newen Jahres Anno 1601. ... umbgetragen und geschawet worden" (VD17 1:639247K).
