VIDM 2023 :: Calling all Facilitators!

VIDM 2023 Call for Facilitators is now open.

Virtual International Day of the Midwife

I’ve been in Manchester today for the #MarchwithMidwives event - wow what a turnout. Calling for government to:

- fund maternity service properly
- value midwives & families
- invest in social infrastructure

Powerful speeches from MPs, parents, unions, midwives and others. The love band playing in support and a choir too. Everyone acknowledging that this is a crisis.
#solidarity

@midwifesheena hello Sheena! Great to see you here 😘

I’ve made it to the other side! Looking forward to connecting with my tribe - where are you?

I've just finished teaching my course Biomechanics for birth to 15 Oxford #midwives
I've taught thousands of HCPs but never get tired of talking about changing the conversation in childbirth.
We can do much better when we focus on the women, what they say, how they move. These observations are key in recognising when birth goes awry. If birth become difficult supporting & optimising physiology using biomechanical techniques helps resolve the problem, make more space for baby. #midwifery #birth
