I’ve been in Manchester today for the #MarchwithMidwives event - wow what a turnout. Calling for government to:

- fund maternity service properly
- value midwives & families
- invest in social infrastructure

Powerful speeches from MPs, parents, unions, midwives and others. The love band playing in support and a choir too. Everyone acknowledging that this is a crisis.

I am an NHS midwife working in a busy hospital. My profession, after years of taking everything that a combination of Tory governments and night shifts could throw at it, has finally taken to the streets.
