I’m a guy from New Zealand who like cats, tech and is starting to dabble in woodworking.
@stroughtonsmith context starts to fall off at around 260k iirc, it’s very easy to pollute so be mindful of that if you do see some issues.
5.4 by all accounts is a huge step up
@louie get the exact same thing. Makes me not want to use it at all. Shame really, the whole iPad being valuable goes away with this for me

@viticci
In v2.1.0 they added an env variable to hide email/org from the UI, should make sharing easier without needing to redact

> Added IS_DEMO environment variable to hide email and organization from the UI, useful for streaming or recording sessions

@louie have a few packs, at a guess has used them once each and have never had anyone use them in a chat.
In concept I love them but usability sucks imo compared to Tapback emoji/reactions so I just use them
@stroughtonsmith
It’s almost as if we haven’t learned or iterated on anything in 41 years.
@rmondello it’s kinda average imo. Not as flexible as business, a bit awkward.
Basically they fill the leg room with more seat.
I like leaning against a wall with legs out front, but cant easily do that with this layout so you end up in an awkward position.
@hellomiakoda What are the inline switch modules you've used? I can't find anything that fits what I want without 3d printing an enclosure + button

I kinda did, but also kinda didn’t…

A few years ago I made the call to have HA as my ‘backend’ - all devices are integrated there and then I bridge them to HomeKit to act as the primary frontend.

I wanted something my partner would be familiar with and something native to the devices we already use (Apple lock in is real).

I also use HA for all automations that don’t need us to interact with (lights w/ presence, default light brightness etc).

Then the home app has scenes/automations that are less fixed/permanent.

I think of HA as the advanced view with way more grunt and almost limitless potential with home(kit) being a nice constraint to build the smart home into something usable by the non-techies in my life.

HA is getting better on this front but until Apple allows native integration (lol) it’ll be hard for them to get all the way there imo.

I got one of these last year and it’s a night and day difference. Added a little bit of foam that sits under it and I’d say they’re more comfortable than ever.

@simonbs check out Mister Organ if you want something similar. Also by David Farrier
