All kinds of fibre crafts, basically! Main Fedi account at @[email protected], this one is specifically for my FOs past and present.
And if the accessibility argument isn't enough, there are selfish reasons to add it too! Alt text = more people sharing and seeing your post, so if you're looking for "engagement" it's the obvious choice 😄
I know what you mean, they can often end up quite stiff or just weirdly chunky with the thicker stitches. But this has been a joy to wear!
I've made it twice (the other was a gift, requested after seeing mine) and I rarely make a pattern twice never mind three times! For whatever that's worth 😄
My contribution to #HandmadeWardrobe for @[email protected] is my favourite and most-worn make of all time, this gold Lorelei Cardigan (pattern by Deni Sharpe).

I've worn it everywhere for years and it's extremely scruffy and pilled, yet somehow have very few photos of me wearing it so here's a random one of a very early morning outing to Saltburn beach.

Really great pattern, highly recommend all of Deni's stuff. Making a replacement Lorelei in a new colour is currently on my todo list for 2025. But this one did well to last so long!

@michellemay Sorry for wall of text reply there, I genuinely can't figure out how to add paragraphs to a comment on either of the apps OR the website 😅
Tags on here aren't used for any kind of algorithmic stuff, they're just a way for people to find the content they're looking for. So best advice is probably "if you were looking for posts like this, what would you search?". I generally go craft (sewing), thing (bag or bumbag or both) and also pattern name so that eventually we can have a useful gallery of projects. Combine that with some alt text so more people will share your posts around, and you're all set!
In 2021, a friend and I decided to learn "proper" sewing by doing a remote, two-person makealong of simple drawstring bags.

The perfect thing to hold small knitting projects like socks, it turned out!

Sadly her bag didn't work out quite as well due to the sewing machine inexplicably sewing backwards(?) and also a lack of interfacing. Mine was a kerfuffle of its own as the blog post we were following seemed to make less and less sense as it went on.

But we persevered, and we overcame. And now we can *sort of* sew, hooray!

Welcome! No worries about activity levels here, since it's all just chronological you don't get punished for not posting, it's all good 😉
No need if it makes you feel uncomfortable! Fedi has a culture of contact warnings on photos with eye contact, anyway. We get you 😅
Love a good goals post! We have an event that runs here every September called the #FinishOrFrogAlong, seems like it might be relevant to your interests 😉
