New Jersey was at the center of the American Revolution, but it has always been overshadowed by Boston and Philadelphia. Unlike those cities, New Jersey's revolutionary legacy is spread widely across the state, and, as a result, the state has struggled to bring its many stories together to create a coherent narrative about its revolutionary contribution. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/20/nyregion/draft-constitution-trenton-nj.html
How a Draft of the Constitution Ended Up in a Drawer in Trenton, N.J.

New Jersey was no less involved in the Revolutionary War than Pennsylvania or Massachusetts. So why does it hide away its priceless artifacts?

@SteveSarson Congratulations!! If you're down for a Zoom chat at some point over the holidays, I'd love to hear more about your progress on the book.

@heidilifeldman The footnotes to this short essay I wrote include many recent books on the Revolution: https://muse.jhu.edu/article/790671

The WMQ and JER also did a joint special issue: https://www.jstor.org/stable/e90014983 AND https://muse.jhu.edu/issue/37349

@heidilifeldman Good to meet you, Heidi! Are you looking for secondary lit on the legal history of the Revolution or just generally?
@seanmunger I do!! His work on holidays and popular politics has been very helpful to me.

Greetings #histodons making the #TwitterMigration!

I research, write, & teach early #AmericanHistory #GenderHistory #CulturalHistory & #PublicHistory. I'm currently finishing a book on George Washington's family.

I don't know if it will happen but I really hope this becomes a viable platform. I'm a historian of the American Revolution and popular memory. If that sounds interesting, give me a follow and I'll follow back.
