People keep updating this and I'm here for that
@anze Not all heroes wear capes.

Since Ryanair now requires you to use their app to get a boarding pass or stand in line at the counter I got fed up with their BS.
I made an app that allows you to get the Google Wallet link and Apple Wallet pkpass (that you can also add to Android wallet apps) without their shitty app (online check-in still has to be done on the Ryanair website, I might make a tool that does that at some point as well).

Feel free to try it at https://ryanair.anze.dev.

@amy @PeteLittle Yeah works in Scotland. I have it working with Fife Councils schedule.

Here's great graphic for those of you interested in where the rain mostly falls in Britain from Alasdair Rae (via LinkedIn):

'A slightly revised version of my 'where does the rain fall across Britain?' 3D render, just in time for the rain - the higher the spike, the soggier it is. In a shocking development, the east gets less rain than the rainsponge west. Shadow effect added as a nod to the rain shadow effect'...

Boost if you want less generative AI in your tech in 2025.

How old money works:

1. OpenAI signs $300B GPU deal with Oracle and they don’t have that kind of money
2. Larry gains $100B (no GPUs shipped) from stock gains
3. Larry invests in OpenAI’s $1T round
4. Sam uses $300B to pay Oracle
5. Oracle stock pumps again on the news of OoenAI deal. Investors rushed and stock prices went up
6. Larry makes another $100B
7. Larry invests in OpenAI

Me: there is absolutely no bubble around 🤣

@itsfoss No slowing down after subsequent updates. Every Windows machine slows down to a point where it is unusable.
Freedom from adverts being pushed to the desktop.
Being able to install and uninstall what I want (ie not having Edge forced on me)
Freedom to customise my desktop. Make it look and feel the way I want.

Knowing that the OS is working for me not a corporation whose sole interest is its share holders, not its customers.

Knowing I am not in walled garden.

10 yes now as main OS.

@johnny101 hahahaha you haven't used later versions of Windows 10 where their updates undo changes you make to the settings.

Don't even get me started on Windows 11

Windows 7 was the last 'good' version they released

Outside the tech world, everyone talks about public figures like Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Sam Altman, and others. However, those in IT or with CS background know that people like Dennis Ritchie, Ken Thompson, Alan Turing, researchers and mathematician are the ones who truly built this industry. Sadly, they don't get enough credit or movies. People these days worship grifters and I think it is really sad.
