@mrbones909 That’s a good point! I think C++ was the first prog lang I tried back when I was a kid and to be honest, it put me off programming for quite some time … Given what you say, D sounds like a good option! Best of luck on your coding journey!
@mrbones909 Thanks for sharing! Interesting. I haven’t considered D… Have you tried C++? If so, how do they compare according to you?

If you had to choose - just based on the enjoyment of writing the code - what programming language would you choose?

Looking for some inspiration. I’ve heard good things about the Odin programming language.

The future used to be flying cars. Now I'm excited when a product comes with a headphone jack.

@AbramKedge That’s interesting! Do you think it would have been better to keep the content separate? Like one course in programming and one in the history of programming? Or do we not need to learn about the history?
Just finished reading “We, Programmers” by Robert (Uncle Bob) C. Martin. Really interesting book about the history of programming. Got me thinking, should history of our craft be included when studying programming in higher education? #programming #history #books #highereducation
New research out: “Beyond the Hype – How Higher Education Stakeholders View the Benefits and Concerns of Generative AI for Teaching, Research, and Administration”. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.caeo.2026.100381 #artificialintelligence #research #highereducation
@TagHunt On a more serious note, I hope you get more suggestions. It’s a good question and I’m interested in the answers too! :) To get things started, some esolangs that I find interesting (given the context) are Piet and Shakespeare. An honorable mention to ArnoldC, because that language makes me laugh :D
@TagHunt Maybe DreamBerd (the perfect programming language)? :)
