@munificent's book, Crafting Interpreters, is really helping me grasp #programming patterns that did not click when I was in school. Its cool that its helping me learn not just how programming languages works, but how #software architecture works too.

Isn't it weird how in 3D two axes are always horizontal?

Even if you rotate the object (90° anyway) it will still have two axes that are horizontal with the plane you're viewing it from. One vertical, two horizontal. I guess it makes sense, it fits with how we view the universe, as a species trapped on what appears to be a plane experiencing gravity.

Is it just our perception though, or a universal truth?

I guess my best option is #D at this point, as its a sort of "C with classes" type language.

I know C++ exists but as someone who hated the "flexibility" of #JavaScript I really doubt I'd like it. I prefer consistency over having multiple syntaxes for the same thing.

I'm not sure D has much of an ecosystem though, and I don't know if it has a debugger.

I really took for granted how much more open and easy #C was in terms of its tooling and build system.

I went back to #Csharp because I enjoyed programming in it in school, but I learned its nigh impossible to debug it without the proprietary version of #VSCode or #Jetbrains Rider. #Java has a horrible build system and is similarly limited in-terms of debuggers, despite being much older. Are there even any languages similar to them that are open, and can be debugged with pretty much any IDE?

It's 1998, you make a website in the copy of frontpage express that came with your computer, it's just like Word and it's very easy, you figure out how to upload it to the couple megs of web space that your ISP gives you (the instructions are on their website), you visit your site in your browser and everything's fine and the site's readable and everything looks the way it should
