Here's the final version; it's strong! Printing lots of copies.
Also attached is the left-to-right evolution of the part design
MK II
my plastic is not stronger than their plastic. model has been thickened, and i've extended the fillet TO THE EXTREME
here's the original
since i have 12 failed ones i have a decent idea of the failure modes. IMO ultimately they just didn't use enough material, the ribs aren't doing the job
i'm using fillets instead. then depending on how that sustains some testing i might thicken the cylinders
battleforce is pretty cool
it'll probably be a long time before i actually play it, but it's neat
the idea of using it for intersteller campaigns and then switching to alpha strike or classic battletech for specific engagements is appealing
i like to imagine this is how i'll spend my time in a retirement home
my partner's laundry storage contraption is made up of 12 modular pieces and poles that slot into them
every single one of those pieces has failed
here's replacement piece MK I
i'm listening to the International Repeater Group hams check in with each other before bed
radio is pretty cool
My town is elected a pet mayor; it's a fundraiser for the local shelter.

I've only just heard about it - local news discovery is pretty slow
