Denmark 🇩🇰 just passed a groundbreaking law: citizens now own the copyright to their own face, voice, and body.
This is a major win against AI deepfakes and unauthorized digital identity use. The digital self is officially personal property! 💥

At first I read this as "U.S French Press Companies"...
Anyway, I do hope they say "Va te faire enculer"
'War happens in policy-making.'
What happens to quality of life when a fascist takes power.
In light of US tech oligarchy setting its sights on Wikimedia Foundation, a historical detail I did not know before: #Wikipedia became the non-profit it is today partly as the result of a labour strike of Spanish Wikipedia editors who disagreed with the proposed inclusion of advertisements. Initially, it was not clear what revenue model Wikipedia would get, and Wales moved towards a for-profit model already a year after launch. However, rather than working for free, so Jimmy Wales could profit from their labour via advertising, Spanish contributors forked Spanish Wikipedia as the Encyclopedia Libre Universal. Under the threat of losing the editorial community of such a large language, Wales conceded and set up the non-profit.
That is to say, however imperfect they are, all the digital commons we have are the result of ongoing struggle and hard work to keep them as commons.

«Un libro necesario en tiempos de tecnofobia moralista e interesada. El espacio común de Internet, que nació generosamente libre, ha sido ocupado por unicornios monstruosos bajo la mirada cómplice del statu quo. Ha llegado el momento de recuperar lo que es de todxs. Alguien tenía que decirlo». —Simona Levi
Google is trying to put the web in a cage in the same way they put your devices in a cage (Android, ChromeOS).
There’s one really easy, simple and efficient way to fight them: uninstall Chrome/Chromium, use #firefox
Do it. Now.
– But I prefer Chrome because of…
If you are not ready to sacrifice a little comfort (so little, Firefox is great) to save the web, then you don’t deserve a free web anyway. You are part of those killing it.
Remove Chrome. Install Firefox.
