18 October 1942 | A transport of 1,710 Jews deported from Westerbork arrived at #Auschwitz. After the arrival selection 116 women were registered in the camp. The remaining 1,594 people were immediately murdered in gas chambers.

SS physician Johann Paul Kremer was present there. In his diary he wrote: "Today, Sunday morning, I was present at the 11th special action (the Dutch) in humid cold weather. Disgusting scenes with three women who only begged to spare their lives".
