RED FUCKING ALERT

The United States is dropping land mines around villages in Iran. Images posted to social media Thursday show what experts said are U.S. land mines dispersed across a residential area in southern Iran, in what appears to be the first instance in more than two decades of American forces using the weapons.

The photos show American BLU-91/B anti-tank land mines, which are released from an aircraft as part of the Gator mine scattering system, according to four munitions experts who reviewed the imagery at The Washington Post’s request. The United States is the only party in the Iran war known to possess the system.

LAND MINES ARE A WAR CRIME! What in the actual fuck are we doing here? This is a violation of law, of sense, and of humanity. Den Hague for everyone involved.

🚨 HEARTBREAKING: A displaced Palestinian father living in tents in Gaza is urgently calling for help after a rat entered their shelter last night and attacked his newborn baby, severely injuring the baby’s face.

With homes destroyed by Israel’s war, families are forced to live in unsafe, overcrowded tents, where even the most basic sense of safety no longer exists.

Hüseyin Dogru is a German journalist with Turkish-Kurdish roots who has been writing critically about Israel and the genocide in Palestine. He also founded a socialist, anti-fascist news outlet.

Since May 2025 he is sanctioned by the EU like a Russian spy would be. This means all his bank accounts are frozen and he is forbidden from traveling within or into the EU.

He, together with his wife and three kids now face homelessness because he cannot pay his rent or any bills. All transactions he tries to make are simply rejected by his bank, a subsidiary of Commerzbank.

The court in Frankfurt now confirmed his sanctions: The journalist has no rights whatsoever to fight this in any way.

EU says with his reporting about the genocide in Palestine, he would be sowing "ethnic, political and religious disharmony" and supporting Russian destabilization. The EU sanctioned him without even listening to his side or giving him the chance at a fair trial.

All the while,

- German "family minister" Karin Prien is defunding all NGOs who fight for democracy.
- German "culture minister" Wolfram Weimer (who founded the far-right outlet Cicero and was head of disgusting outlet "Die Welt", part of Axel Springer Press) is coming after left-leaning book stores and portraying them as extremist.
- German "minister of the interior" Alexander Dobrindt shakes hands with Netanyahu, buys Israeli tech to suppress the German population, sends police to raid homes of leftists for alleged terrorist attacks, and wants to send refugees to prison camps outside the EU.

In a recent poll, 42% of all Germans under 18 years old said they would like to emigrate and leave Germany. There is no hope here for young Germans. Government is re-introducing military conscriptions. Young Germans will be sent to die in war while all their rights are removed at home.

And still, when I say "most genocide deniers on Mastodon are German", German morons jump into my mentions either asking "source?" or denying it "that can't be true, denying genocide in Germany is illegal. Government would come after them if they denied genocide."

We have a sad tale today from Manchester Piccadilly station.

This is Chocolat. Or at least that's the name printed on their foot.
They're a lovely, cuddly black kitty who was sadly separated from their owner on Platforms 3 & 4 about 19.14.

We heard a tinkle of broken glass and helped their owner tidy up however she had left before I could pass this lovely kitty back to her owner.
Unable to find her on the nearby train we are a bit lost.

Please share this far and wide, across any social media and maybe we can help reunite this poor kitty with their rightful owner.
We will ensure Lost Property here look after her in the meantime.

Buenos Aires, Argentina – It felt like she had run out of doors to knock on.

It was 1977, and Argentinian teacher Taty Almeida had grown desperate. No one seemed able or willing to help her find her missing son, Alejandro, a 20-year-old medical student and political activist.

He was last seen on a street near his home in Buenos Aires. Almeida suspected government-backed paramilitary forces had snatched him, as part of a crackdown on political dissidents.

But no one seemed to be able to locate Alejandro. It was as if he had simply disappeared.

So Almeida made a decision that would change her life forever. She went to the central square in Buenos Aires, just steps from the presidential palace, and joined a group of bereaved women who gathered there each week.

Together, they circled the square, holding up photos of their children and asking, "Where are they?"

The group became known as the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo. For the last half-century, they have been searching for the children and grandchildren abducted under Argentina's dictatorship, from 1976 to 1983.

UN experts urge Israel to free Gaza doctor amid reports of ‘severe torture’

Dr Hussam Abu Safia ‘systematically denied’ medical treatment in Israeli detention, UN special rapporteurs warn.

United Nations experts are calling on Israel to immediately release Dr Hussam Abu Safia, warning that the Palestinian physician from Gaza has been subjected to “severe torture” and other abuses in Israeli detention.

In a statement on Tuesday, UN special rapporteurs Tlaleng Mofokeng and Ben Saul said they had received reports that Abu Safia’s health condition “remains dire”.

“He has been systematically denied critical medical examination and treatment, and deprived of essential care to such an extent that his life, health, and wellbeing have been gravely endangered,” they said.

According to local testimonies, the incident took place near Al-Maghazi in central Gaza, where Osama Abu Nassar was caught in Israeli gunfire close to his home.

He was forced by a quadcopter drone to leave his one year old BABY on the ground and walk toward an Israeli checkpoint, where he was detained.

Witnesses say Israeli forces later took the child and interrogated the father, allegedly abusing the toddler in front of him to pressure him into giving confessions.

The child was held for around 10 hours before being released through the Red Cross, while the father remains detained.

The family is calling on international organizations to urgently intervene and ensure the child receives medical treatment and the father’s release.
