ICYMI—I have a except from my Italy memoir COME FOR THE WINE, STAY FOR THE SURGERY in the AUG/SEP issue of Wine Enthusiast on newsstands now. Check it out!
@nerdseyeview I’ve been considering doing the same with a wine/travel memoir on substack. I’ve sold several stories out of it and have one that just came out in print edition of Wine Enthusiast for August/September issue. But I still want to query while the ms. has some traction with regard to appearing in a widely distributed magazine. So I’m wondering if I publish on Substack if that takes other publishing options off the table?
Farewell Alan Arkin. ♥️ One of the greats. This is my favorite scene from Big Trouble with Peter Falk.

@simonjwoolf I don’t know how people maintain it all. It feels like one non-stop repost from platform to platform. I still follow you on Twitter because it seems like there is more interaction there. I was impressed that you created the epicure instance—but for the life of me I still can’t navigate over to it.
Most everyone I followed over to this platform from Twitter had an initial flurry of activity but have since have encamped to other platforms such as Bluesky and Substack Notes and Post. And the majority are still on Twitter. The threads from the groups /communities I followed on Twitter are still alive and well. I check in here occasionally—but it’s exhausting trying to keep up with all the platforms.
@nerdseyeview mowtown sounds like the perfect music for lawn mowing ;-)
@nerdseyeview How many pages is the script? What’s the budget?
