Day 30 of #EssayCamp - I’ve finished camp! I have 150 new thoughts from the five things prompts (today’s inc gifts & love), 1 full finished essay (up on my blog) & 3 attempts at vignettes that might become something more. Thank you so much Summer Brennan for making it all happen!
Day 29 of #EssayCamp - another five things: daily walks, frost, overworked delivery people, talking to spiders, and the pursuit of perfection and why it doesn’t work.
Day 28 of #EssayCamp - today my five things were reminisces on childhood toys, thoughts on Father Christmas & the Tooth Fairy, a quick detour into what Jesus thought he was accomplishing by claiming to be the Son of God, making contact with local deities, and Aunt Flow’s arrival.
Day 27 of #EssayCamp - my intention to try different essay styles during the last five days of camp has been shelved as I want to enjoy learning & playing rather than rushing through in my currently very limited time. So just five things today including mistranslations & candles.
Day 26 of #EssayCamp - five sentences rather than five things (because gifts don’t crochet themselves), but very small thoughts written down re the naming of deities, acknowledging achievements, resting by doing, habit creation, and being in the vicinity of teenage angst.
Day 25 of #EssayCamp - today the five things are, in no particular order, memories of Marmite Dog, persistent joint pain, musings on mulling, the urge to prod the unmelted wax at the edges of jar candles, and why a group of pheasants should really be termed an overreaction.
Day 24 of #EssayCamp - a very quick five things today, as I’m also trying to finish my monthly “Tale from the Wildwood”, but topics were walking in circles, crows with white patches on their wings, rescue greyhounds, writing courses, and how frugality can generate generosity.
Day 23 of #EssayCamp - an attempt at a vignette essay that … well I’m not going to show it to anyone. Not in its current form at any rate. Also five things including dog ownership, being easily distracted, & how on some days to-do lists are the very devil in pencil & paper form.
Day 23 of #EssayCamp - five things today are thoughts on grief that has not dissipated with time, “computer says no”, forgetfulness, becoming unstuck, and walking speeds when embarrassed.
Day 21 of #EssayCamp - today the five things were brain fog, wearing a mask indoors and out, christmas decorations, irrational fears, and regretting things you didn't do or, rather, regretting doing the 'sensible' thing instead of following your dream.
